Matlock, Matlock Bath & The Heights of Abraham
We’re heading to Matlock, then in the afternoon, we’ll move onto Matlock Bath where the Heights of Abraham are only a short walk away.
A former spa town situated at a sharp bend in the River Derwent, where it turns south to carve its way through the ridge of limestone which bars its route towards Derby.
Visiting Matlock Bath is the best way to see the truly breath-taking nature of the Gorge, particularly when the trees are bare and also the best way of seeing the variety of interesting Georgian and Victorian buildings that give Matlock Bath its wonderful architectural heritage and friendly appeal.
Heights of Abraham
One of the Peak District’s most appealing destinations where stunning natural beauty is all around, the Heights is rightly famed for its landmark cable car which provides a spectacular journey across the Derwent Valley. At the summit, people can experience a unique blend of attractions.
